In recognition of Women’s History Month, HMS will work with retail partner Walmart® and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) to highlight women in business.
As part of the overall effort to empower women and help women-owned businesses succeed and grow, Walmart® partnered with WBENC and WEConnect International in developing the “Women-Owned” logo to help customers easily identify products that come from women-owned businesses.
This initiative could be a game-changer for HMS’ business. Janet Sofy – HMS company president – said, “It’s important because I believe the consumer wants to know that women are behind the design and innovation and manufacturing of these products.”
The majority of purchasing decisions are made by women. Janet Sofy believes this initiative is also important for women all over the world because it demonstrates that Walmart® and other retailers are behind, backing and supporting the development of businesses run and operated by women worldwide.
A number of products from HMS’ Home Logic® brand will appear in Walmart® stores nationwide and on Walmart.com with the women-owned logo to make customers aware of the unique products made by women-owned businesses.
